MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE
The Position
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Associate is a full-time position having day-to-day responsibility for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and functionality of the grounds and common areas of the Plaza Center retail shops and office tower, located in Hayward, California.

General Maintenance

Teams with Property Managers in the operation and reporting of client properties

Handles day-to-day tenant activities, including A/R, A/P, and billing
-
Directly responsible for commercial real estate accounting, including CAM reconciliations

Grounds Maintenance
-
Prepares month-end and year-end closes
-
Calculates monthly investor draws and year-end true-ups
-
Ensures that effective internal controls are in place to be compliant with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting

Provides the President, the Board, and the family with analysis and advice on the financial implications of business activities and investments, and

Requirements
-
B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
-
5+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles in real estate development, property management, and/or the construction industry
-
Minimum of 2 years of GL experience, ideally in property accounting
-
Excellent GAAP knowledge and general accounting skills
-
Strong working knowledge of commercial real estate accounting, including CAM reconciliations
-
Hands-on experience with major commercial real estate property management software (e.g., Sage 300, RealPage, Yardi, coStar, MRI, Buildium, or similar)

Direct experience in software migration

Strong computer skills (Windows environment), including Excel
-
Experience calculating monthly or quarterly investor draws and year-end true-ups
-
Working knowledge of agriculture financing highly desirable
-
Experience in a family-owned business desired but not required
